First Look: Christopher And His Kind

Want more of Matt Smith on your screen but before Christmas? Well, then, get ready for BBC2 biopic, Christopher And His Kind, due to air later in the year.

Filmed in Northern Ireland a month ago, Christopher And His Kind is a biopic on writer Christopher Isherwood (Matt Smith) breaking from his suffocating mother, Kathleen (Lindsay Duncan) for the hedonistic lifestyle of Berlin between the period of 1929-1939, the events that inspired the musical, Cabaret.

A bevy of different actors appear in this 90 minute biopic including Douglas Booth, whose character Heinz becomes a love interest for Christopher as well as Imogen Poots as aspiring actress, Jean Ross and Toby Jones as Gerald Hamilton, the man who provided inspiration for Isherwood's book, Mr Norris Changes Trains. Christopher And His Kind is written by playwright Kevin Elyot and directed by Geoffrey Sax. Expect a review for the biopic on this blog.
